Three Kenny alumni performed in the off-Broadway performance of Loserville this past weekend as part of the National Theatre for Student Artists program.
Ian Hayes (2017 Kenny winner), Joey Lotocki (2017 Kenny winner), and Penelope Sergi (2018 Kenny nominee) each had leading roles in the West End hit. They spent three weeks rehearsing the show at Daemen College with students from across the country. Then on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 8 pm, they performed the show at the York Theatre at St. Peter's in New York City. While in NYC, the students also got to see the Tony Award winning show The Band's Visit.
The National Theatre for Student Artists (NTSA) was created and is managed by Kenny alum Victoria Chatfield. Victoria started her own student-run theatre company that produced musicals while still in high school. In 2012, she created the National Theatre for Student Artists, which is a pre-professional program for Broadway bound students that accepts talented students from across the country and brings them together to produce a piece of theatre in the same time frame as professionals.
